Use of term to "poll"
Carol Rene made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
The request was successful.
From: Carol Rene
Dear New Zealand Police,
I request the following information under the Official Information Act (OIA): if a Police officer refers to the act of 'polling' the smartphone of an individual, using the word "poll", is it likely that they are referring to some process by which police can find the physical location of that smartphone? If so, I request copies of internal Police policy on this process. If not, I request other acts that this term could refer to.
Yours faithfully,
Carol Rene
