On behalf of Hon Carmel Sepuloni, thank you for your email on 14 November
 2021, requesting information under the Official Information Act 1982.
 
The Minister is not aware of any past, current or planned future work in
 her portfolios with regards to the definition or use of the term ‘social
 licence’. As such, the Minister suggests clarifying your request and
 providing further details about what you are seeking in regard to the term
 “social license”.
 
If you do not refine your request within 10 working days, your request may
 be refused under section 18(f) of the Act as substantial manual collation
 would be required to locate and search all documents held by the Minister
 to determine whether they relate to the use or definition of “social
 license”.
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
 this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at

On 14 November 2021, you emailed the Office on Hon Carmel Sepuloni,
 Minister for Social Development & Employment, Minister for Disability
 Issues, Minister for ACC and Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage
 requesting the following information under the Official Information Act
 1982 (the Act):
 
·       all information you hold in a ministerial capacity regarding the
 definition or use of the term "social licence". To avoid doubt, this
 request is for information relating to any of your portfolio or other
 ministerial responsibilities.
 
On 16 November 2021, the Office contacted you suggesting that you clarify
 your request and provide further details about what you are seeking in
 regard to the term “social license” as the Minister is not aware of any
 past, current or planned future work in her portfolios with regards to the
 definition or use of the term ‘social licence’. We asked that do clarified
 your request by 30 November 2021.
 
To date, the office has not received a response from you. As such, the
 office will not be proceeding with your request under the Act as
 substantial manual collation would be required to locate and search all
 documents held by the Minister to determine whether they relate to the use
 or definition of “social license”.
The Minister welcomes you to send through another request of official
 information and this will be treated as a new request.
