Dear OIA Requests,
I still await a reply to my question. What is the NZ Governments legal definition of 'safe'? I did ask MOH particularly but it does seem that the Crown and elected officials continue to use the word 'safe' in different contexts relating to medications. It would seem that we need to define the word to make sure that the public comprehends if the govt definition is different to the generally perceived definition in common English use.
Yours sincerely,
Tracy Livingston

Kia ora Tracy
Thank you for your follow up email. On 5 September 2021 the Ministry of
Health (the Ministry) attempted to clarify your request for a definition
of the word safe.
As you have not further clarified what you are referring to, your request
is refused under section 18(g) of the Official Information Act (1982) as
the information requested is not held by the Ministry and there are no
grounds for believing it is held by another agency subject to the Act.
Under section 28(3) of the Act you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be
contacted by email at: [1][email address] or by phone on 0800
802 602.
