Subdivision funding and co-funding options to support councils

Adam Irish made this Official Information request to New Zealand Infrastructure Commission/Te Waihanga

The request was partially successful.

From: Adam Irish

Dear New Zealand Infrastructure Commission/Te Waihanga,

I wish to request under the Official Information Act reports or advice that relate to the funding or co-funding of subdivision development by the Infrastructure Commission and/or Central Government. What support if any is being proposed to help councils fund and develop more subdivisions. Additionally is their any project for funding or co-funding of subdivisions in Auckland and Wellington to help alleviate the housing crisis.

Yours faithfully,

Adam Irish

Kia ora Adam,

I'm responding to your request for reports or advice that relate to the funding or co-funding of subdivision development, and projects for doing so in Auckland and Wellington. The Infrastructure Commission, Te Waihanga does not hold this information.

However, the role infrastructure can have in housing supply is among the issues we are considering as we work to develop a 30-year infrastructure strategy. We will be seeking public feedback and consulting on our strategy this year and welcome feedback.

Thank you

John
