Roading complaints list and sealing plans.
Mike Hunua made this Official Information request to Kaipara District Council
The request was partially successful.
From: Mike Hunua
Dear Kaipara District Council,
Could you provide a list of roads in the Kaipara district that KDC has received the most complaints about. If this is to much work for an OIA request then a top ten list would be acceptable.
Could you also list any metal roads that are scheduled or planned for in the future by Council to be sealed regardless of funding or not.
Yours faithfully,
Mike Hunua

Kaipara District Council
Hi Mike
Thank you for your information request relating to road complaints and
sealing under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act.
I have attached for you a database from our service request system. It is
very raw data based on complaints received for various roads. We are
unable to effectively give the most roads complained about as our systems
don’t report that way. Also a complaint could be anything from a dead cat
to a slip on a road which is probably not what you are wanting. However I
hope this gives you a general idea.
Pouto Road is to be sealed with PGF funding. Stage 1, the first 10km of
unsealed road is in progress. Stage 2, the final 11km to the point, is not
yet approved for construction as its still under the design and
investigation stage. This is the only road undergoing sealing as we
currently do not have any road sealing budget in Council’s Long Term Plan.
Regards Linda
