From: Mark Allen

Dear Jo Pettitt,

Thank you for finally responding to the request, literally on the final hours of the 20th working day. I would just like to get it on the record that according to the Ombudsmans Office guide "The LGOIMA for local government agencies - A guide to processing requests and conducting meetings" document on page 17, it states under the heading 'Timeframe for making and communicating a decision'

"An agency must make a decision and communicate it to the requester ‘as soon as reasonably
practicable’ and no later than 20 working days after the day on which the request was
received.

The decision must state whether the request will be granted, and if so in what manner and for
what charge (if any).

The agency’s primary legal obligation is to notify the requester of the decision on the request
‘as soon as reasonably practicable’. The reference to 20 working days is not the de facto goal
but the absolute maximum (unless it is extended appropriately)."

Considering the response given was fairly short and simple, it doesn't appear that this request's response was given "as soon as reasonably practicable" so I do hope that in future requests, more effort and professionalism will be made to get a more timely response.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Allen
