Yogyakarta Principles

K Isaac made this Official Information request to Human Rights Commission

The request was successful.

From: K Isaac

Dear Human Rights Commission,

Under the Official Information Act I request all information related re:

On what basis does the HRC state that "The Yogyakarta Principles set out the international human rights standards that all countries must meet to uphold the human rights of sexual and gender minorities" (references https://www.hrc.co.nz/your-rights/our-wo... and https://www.hrc.co.nz/your-rights/your-r...) given that these principles:
1) Are NOT recognized in international human rights law
2) Have no legal status (either in New Zealand or internationally)
3) Have never been accepted or ratified by the United Nations

Yours faithfully,

K Isaac
