Dear Ministry of Health,

Our union represents workers at most of the hotels commissioned by the New Zealand Government to provide self-isolation and quarantine accommodation during Covid-19.

We have requested each employer provide us with information on the training given to staff and the policies and guidelines they're required to work under during this period. We have been informed by the employers they're unable to provide us with this information and we must request directly from Worksafe, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Defence therefore we are requesting you provide us with this information urgently. Our members are lawfully entitled to be, and feel safe at their place of work and in good faith we make this request on their behalf.

We have also requested information on what will happen should a staff member contract Covid-19. We have been told should this happen Ministry of Health will manage the situation. Therefore we request the information on what process will be implement should this occur (if it has not already.)

Yours faithfully,
