Pinnacle Engineering have designed the sealing of the Wentworth Valley Rd Whangamata
Splice contractors have the contract and are underway.
As a land owner in the valley and an affected party I would like to see the engineering plan including drainage for the works.
We have been given the road boundary and its proposed changes but noone has shown us or will even talk to us about road height.
Raising the road will dam our property on the Wentworth Valley flood plain in a significant weather event, which happen 2-3x a year. It will accelerate the flow of water causing erosion from the river silting up the Whangamata Harbour and golf course. My house may be flooded.
The road works are steaming ahead and currently the road is at least 30cm above its previous level and cimbing.
There is no resource consent for this work or environmental impact report and we have been awaiting answers to these questions for 2 1/2 months.
Please move quickly because the road maybe sealed within days and then we have little recourse.
