Admission into MBcHB

Sarah L made this Official Information request to University of Otago

The request was partially successful.

From: Sarah L

Dear University of Otago,

Please provide the following breakdown into the MBChB program for the last two intake years.

The grades (GPA average over qualifying papers) and other qualifying scores of all students admitted along with their primary ethnicity and whether they were admitted under a special category (if so, which one).

This data is clearly non- identifiable, unless the ethnicity is a very small minority (in which case an other category can be used).

Yours faithfully,

Sarah

Kia Ora Sarah,

I am writing in regard to your Official Information Act request regarding
grades for applicants admitted to the MB ChB at the University of Otago
for 2019 and 2020.  This response was due today.

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide you with a decision today and I am
notifying an extension under section 15A(1) of the Act due to the time
needed to complete consultation in the preparation of a response. I am
thus advising that the response will now be provided no later than
Wednesday 1 July. I have specified this timeframe to ensure there is
sufficient time to prepare the response; however, I anticipate that I will
be able to provide the decision well in advance of this date.

I note your right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman regarding this
decision.

Ngâ manaakitanga,

Claire
