Kia Ora,

Thank you for contacting Hon Grant Robertson, the Minister of Finance,
Minister Responsible for the Earthquake Commission, Minister for Sport and
Recreation, Associate Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage and MP for
Wellington Central. The Minister considers all correspondence important
and appreciates you taking the time to write. Please note that as Minister
Robertson receives a large amount of correspondence it is not always
possible to personally reply to all emails.

The following guidelines apply:

Portfolio related correspondence will be considered and  responded to
where appropriate

Invitations and requests to meet with the Minister will be processed as
soon as possible and a staff member will be in contact with you in due
course

All media queries will be responded to by a staff member.

Requests for official information will be managed in accordance with the
provisions of the Official Information Act 1982, which may include
transfer to a more relevant Minister or agency.

If your email falls outside of the Minister’s portfolio responsibilities,
expresses a personal view, or is copied to multiple Members of Parliament,
then your opinion will be noted and your correspondence may be transferred
to another office, or there may be no further response to you.

If your correspondence is to the Minister as the Member of Parliament for
Wellington Central, this will be referred to his electorate office.

Please note information about meetings related to the Ministers’
portfolios will be proactively released (this does not include personal or
constituency matters). For each meeting in scope, the summary would list:
date, time (start and finish), brief description, location, who the
meeting was with, and the portfolio. If you attend a meeting with the
Minister on behalf of an organisation, the name of the organisation will
be released. If you are a senior staff member at an organisation, or meet
with the Minister in your personal capacity, your name may also be
released. The location of the meeting will be released, unless it is a
private residence. The proactive release will be consistent with the
provisions in the Official Information Act, including privacy
considerations. Under the Privacy Act 1993 you have the right to ask for a
copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to
be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of
your information, or to have it corrected, or are concerned about the
release of your information in the meeting disclosure, please contact the
sender. You can read more about the proactive release policy at

Thank you for your correspondence about RNZ's proposed changes to RNZ Concert.

The Government is aware of the significance of RNZ Concert to New Zealand's music sector and to its listeners. It is clear that this service plays an important role in the lives of a great many New Zealanders and has a loyal and committed following.

One of the key purposes of public media and a core Government priority for the arts is helping overcome barriers to access, and this is something RNZ Concert does very well for many New Zealanders. It has also been particularly heartening to hear from a diverse range of Kiwi musicians, composers and others in the industry about what RNZ Concert means to them.

At the Cabinet meeting on 10 February 2020, Government agreed it did not want RNZ Concert to lose its FM platform and agreed to explore what would be involved in allocating the currently unutilised 102FM frequency to RNZ's proposed youth-focussed service. RNZ has publicly welcomed this step.

The Government supports RNZ in seeking to increase its reach to more New Zealand youth and are happy that it now has the opportunity to pursue two goals - to continue broadcasting RNZ Concert on FM radio, while also looking to establish a new channel targeted to audiences in the 18 to 34-year-old age range.

As you will be aware, RNZ has now withdrawn its proposal for changes to RNZ Concert. The Government is pleased that RNZ is taking this approach, and have asked our officials to stay in touch with RNZ on these matters.

Once again, thank you for writing and for taking the time to share your views. Please be assured that you have been heard.

Kind regards,

Office of Hon Grant Robertson

Dear Hon Grant Robertson,

While it's great to get a speedy reply, your response doesn't actually address my request for information. I just wanted to check with you - is this your final response to my Official Information request?
