Thank you for your Official Information Act request below. I write to
update you on the progress of the response.
Your request is very broad, and an initial scoping exercise identified
over 800 documents potentially in scope. The process of collating the
information in scope and reviewing it to reach a decision on the release
is still underway. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet the
statutory timeframe for the response in this instance, and an extension is
necessary. The extension is made in accordance with section 15(A)(1) (a)
of the Act, which applies when the request is for a large quantity of
information or necessitates a search through a large quantity of
information; and section 15(A)(1) (b) of the Act, which applies when the
consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a
proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
The extension is to Friday 27 March 2020, however we will respond as soon
as is practicable.
If there is any information of particular interest to you and you would
like us to prioritise that part of your request, please let me know and we
will endeavour to do so.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
[1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Ngā mihi

Thank you for your Official Information Act request below. I write to
update you on the progress of the response.
Your request is very broad, and an initial scoping exercise identified
over 800 documents potentially in scope. The process of collating the
information in scope and reviewing it to reach a decision on the release
is still underway. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet the
statutory timeframe for the response in this instance, and an extension
is necessary. The extension is made in accordance with section 15(A)(1)
(a) of the Act, which applies when the request is for a large quantity
of information or necessitates a search through a large quantity of
information; and section 15(A)(1) (b) of the Act, which applies when the
consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a
proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
The extension is to Friday 27 March 2020, however we will respond as soon
as is practicable.
If there is any information of particular interest to you and you would
like us to prioritise that part of your request, please let me know and
we will endeavour to do so.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman
of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available
at [1][13]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
