MPI's handling of Kauri dieback
Ben Goldson made this Official Information request to Ministry for Primary Industries
The request was partially successful.
From: Ben Goldson
Dear Ministry for Primary Industries,
I am writing to obtain the answers to the following questions:
What is the history of the government's awareness of Kauri dieback’s spread across Aotearoa New Zealand?
What is the history of the government’s approach to fighting Kauri dieback?
What is the government's estimation of the extent of the damage done by Kauri dieback?
At any point did an entity other than MPI, governmental or non-governmental, advocate for keeping parks containing Kauri open against the advice of experts?
Yours faithfully,
Ben Goldson
