Pharmac Funding Applications

Gemma Crawley made this Official Information request to Pharmaceutical Management Agency

The request was successful.

From: Gemma Crawley

Dear Pharmaceutical Management Agency,

Is it common practice to work with Agencies for example NZAF to support them in preparing funding applications (PrEP)?

Do you work with the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation and NZ Cancer Society for example on their applications for life prolonging drugs such as Kadcyla and Ibrance?

Yours faithfully,

Gemma Crawley

Hi Gemma
Most of the funding applications we receive come from suppliers.
NZAF did apply to us for PrEP.
And the Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition applied to us for palbociclib (Ibrance), along with the supplier, Roche.
Anyone can submit a funding application. We are happy to work with anyone wanting to submit an application.
We can also keep relevant groups informed of progress on an application.

You can follow progress of an application on our application tracker, here.

I hope this answers your questions.

Kind regards
Donna Jennings
