Dear Raj,
Thank you for your reply to my OIA request sent on May 27, received and acknowledged by your office on May 27, seeking copies of correspondence between the Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister's Office, and Lizzie Marvelly.
The deadline for responding to this OIA request was on June 25.
On June 26, I received your letter outlining that you would extend the time limit for response by up to 15 working days.
You will be aware that Section 15A(3) of the Official Information Act reads:
"The extension shall be effected by giving or posting notice of the extension to the person who made the request within 20 working days after the day on which the request is received."
Accordingly, as the notice of extension was after the original deadline, you are not entitled to extend the time limit for responding to this request.
I do not consider that a further extension of 15 working days for consultations with one person is reasonable or justified. These consultations, with one named person in the OIA request, could have been readily conducted within the original 20 working day timeframe.
I consider that any further delay of the release of this information beyond 5pm, Friday 28 June, is a deliberate attempt to frustrate the purpose of the Official Information Act, and intend to refer the issue to the Ombudsman if I do not receive a substantive response to my request by tomorrow afternoon.
Yours sincerely,
Hamish Price

Dear Jacinda Ardern,
I received an interim response to my Official Information Act request for correspondence between you, your office, and Lizzie Marvelly on 26 June, advising an extension of a further 15 days.
As per my earlier email, the deadline for seeking an extension was 25 June. Your office was not lawfully entitled to claim an extension after 25 June. As of today’s date, you have now failed to comply with your own extended deadline for this request, which was due on 16 July.
I wish to advise that I intend to make a complaint to the Ombudsman if this and other outstanding OIA requests are not complied with by 5pm today.
Yours faithfully,
Hamish Price

Dear Jacinda Ardern,
As previously advised, your response to the OIA I submitted on 27 May is long overdue. As I mentioned in my previous communication to your office, I have referred this delay, and that of six other OIA requests that you have delayed, to the Ombudsman.
Kind regards,
Hamish Price

Agree with Hamish here, 15 days after the 26th June was the 17th June. It is now another 6 working days overdue from that extension.
