Out of Hours Music schools, distribution of hours and when that was last reviewed.

Khalia Strong made this Official Information request to Ministry of Education

The request was successful.

From: Khalia Strong

Dear Ministry of Education,

Please can you tell me how many schools in the country access the Out of Hours Music and Arts (OOHMA) funding. I would like to know:

-How many hours are allocated to each school
-How and when that distribution was allocated (was it based on population, interest from the public, demographic etc)
- Have there been any changes to the distribution of hours in the past 10 years and what were the reasons for that?

Yours faithfully,

Khalia Strong

Dear Khalia

Thank you for your email of 7 May 2019 requesting the following
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):

Please can you tell me how many schools in the country access the Out of
Hours Music and Arts (OOHMA) funding. I would like to know:

- How many hours are allocated to each school - How and when that
distribution was allocated (was it based on population, interest from the
public, demographic etc)

- Have there been any changes to the distribution of hours in the past 10
years and what were the reasons for that?

The Act requires that you are advised of the decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make the
decision, to 28 June 2019. We will try to respond sooner than this date if
possible.

This extension is necessary because of the consultation involved to make a
decision on your request. The proper response cannot reasonably be made
within the original time limit.

You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to review this decision. You can do
this by writing to [1][email address] or Office of the
Ombudsman, PO Box 10152, Wellington 6143.

Yours sincerely
