Parent Resident Visa EOI Ballot Status and Quota Updates

Z Li made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Z Li to read a recent response and update the status.

From: Z Li

Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,

I am writing to formally request an update regarding the current status of the Parent Resident Visa category, specifically concerning the Expression of Interest (EOI) ballot draws and the reporting of application numbers.

As an interested stakeholder in this visa category, I have been closely monitoring the regular EOI selections. I note that as of the second Tuesday 11 November 2025, there has been no public update or announcement regarding the scheduled ballot draw for November 2025.

Could you please provide clarification on the following points:

November EOI Ballot Status: Has the November 2025 ballot draw for the Parent Resident Visa already taken place? If not, is there a confirmed scheduled date for this draw, or has there been a pause in selections for this month? If so, what's the reason for pausing the draw?

Remaining Quota for 2025/2026: Could you please confirm the number of places remaining in the annual quota for the Parent Resident Visa category for the 2025/2026 year?

Website Reporting Delays: I refer to the dedicated overview page on your website: www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/news-ce....

This page is a crucial resource for applicants trying to understand realistic timeframes and selection likelihood. However, it appears it has not been updated recently to reflect the latest figures. Could you please advise when stakeholders can expect this page to be updated with current data?

Timely and transparent information regarding these ballots is vital for families attempting to plan their futures.

I look forward to your prompt response.

Yours faithfully,

Z Li
