Dear MOD,
Thank you for your reply to my OIA requesting a narrowing of scope. I am seeking the same information for the period 2008-2018.
Yours sincerely,
Valerie Morse
From: Valerie Morse
Dear Ministry of Defence,
In response to my original OIA, I am limiting my request to the period 2008-2018. I sent this narrower request on 12 June, and have not received any acknowledgement by MoD.
My original request was:
"I am seeking all information or communications you hold on Israeli weapons companies: Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries, Israel Military Industries Ltd, Israel Weapon Industries and RAFAEL."
I would appreciate an acknowledgement that this clarified request has been received by your office
Yours faithfully,
Valerie Morse

Has this decision been challenged? There seems to be very little consultation by MoD as to their difficulty in providing any information for any period.
They didn't even advise what years would have been easily available to consider. It's like pulling teeth getting any assistance from MoD with regard to information they hold.
If this matter does go to the Ombudsman, I dear say a favourable view will be taken to seek greater assistance from MoD in advising what info could be provided.
Things to do with this request
- Add an annotation (to help the requester or others)
- Download a zip file of all correspondence

There could be a case for Section 15(1AB)(b) not being met here.
It does seem a tad odd that a Ministry would not be aware within 7 days of the request that the original request may have been too broad for it to be able to meet the original 20 day time frame.
Perhaps the Ministry may wish to reconsider its reason for extending. Otherwise, it does look as though the Ministry is in breach of its legislative OIA responsibilities.
