Declared interests of elected council members.

K.D. Brookes made this Official Information request to Tasman District Council

The request was successful.

From: K.D. Brookes

Dear Tasman District Council,
all elected members should have declared their interests in the district, including land holdings of their own and of their immediate family. I ask that all interests be made known to me. This request is made in connection with the proposed building of the Lee Valley dam about which a vote will be taken by Councillors in February 2018 on whether or not to continue with the project. As the Christmas break is fast approaching and also the above mentioned vote, I consider this request to be a matter of urgency and therefore put this forward as an URGENT request. Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
K.D.Brookes

Thank you for your request for information received on 3 December 2017
made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
(LGOIMA).

Our response is as follows:

Our Elected Members' Interests Register is publicly available on our
website and updated regularly.  The latest, updated version was published
in October 2017.   You can access this Register here:
 [1]http://www.tasman.govt.nz/council/mayor-...

We are compiling a separate Projects Interests Register to record in one
place those interests that are already listed in the Members’ Interests
Register that may be relevant to the proposed Waimea Community Dam.  There
is no legal requirement to do so but we felt it would be a prudent in the
interests of transparency, and to complement the information already
publicly available, eg, the Statement of Proposal.

The additional Project Interests Register will be made publicly available
on our website on or before 22 December 2017.

I must advise you of your right to complain to an Ombudsman if you do not
believe you have been given a reasonable response to your request.  This
right to complain is dealt with in section 27 of the Local Government
Official Information and Meetings Act.

Please note that we now have a dedicated e-mail address
[2][email address] to receive requests for official information.
Direction of future requests to this e-mail address will assist in
processing time.

Regards,
