Why cannot the same assurance be given to Rabbit owners as John Keys Cat.
Gary Stephenson made this Official Information request to Minister for Primary Industries
The request was refused by Minister for Primary Industries.
From: Gary Stephenson
Dear Minister for Primary Industries,
Given that Hon John Key, when asked on the Television News, about Gareth Morgan’s goal to get rid of all cats, Hon John Key referred to his own pet cat Moonbeam smiling and saying, “Moonbeam is as safe as a house. If you’re talking about feral cats on the DOC estate, their time is limited.”
Given that, a companion animal can be a pet cat, dog, rabbit, parrot…….
Can the Minister of Primary Industries give the same reassurance, publicly, as John Key did for cats, that pet rabbits will be as safe as a house under the Ministry of Primary Industries efforts to eradicate feral rabbits.
If not – why not?
If not what is the difference?
Yours faithfully,
Gary Stephenson
