From: Tracey Travers
Dear Mr Macale
Thank you for your two emails dated 15 October 2016. Your requests were
transferred to the Department of Internal Affairs (Department) from
Minister Dunne’s Office on 17 October 2016 as they relate to operational
matters.
You asked the following:
· ‘the contact details of the Complaints Investigation and
Prosecution Department of Internal Affairs’
The Department does not have a Complaints Investigation and Prosecution
department. Investigations by the Department are generally managed by the
business unit involved. In order to answer your request we need to know
more details from you so that we can determine which business units are
relevant to your request.
· ‘Official Information request - File on Thames/Hauraki Health
and Disability Resource Centre……a copy of any and all files held by the
DIA on this organisation’
Our initial scan of the information within the scope of this request
indicates it may involve substantial manual collation. It is the
Department’s practice to ask requesters if they wish to reduce the scope
of the request to information that can be provided without substantial
manual collation. This avoids having to refuse to provide, or charge for,
information.
The scope of a request can generally be narrowed if you can provide
information around the type and period for your request. An example of
this would be to specify the period of time you want documents from, and
if they relate to a certain business unit within the Department or a
topic. Similarly, giving us an indication of what you are looking for
within the current broad scope or the underlying reason for the request
may enable us to better target documents that you may need.
If possible, would you please indicate by Tuesday 27 October 2016 if you
are able to able to clarify the scope of your request.
If you wish to discuss any of the above matters I can be contacted on 04
495 7266 within working hours.
Yours sincerely
Tracey Travers
