Diplomatic staff can bring their same-sex spouse to Hong Kong

Billy Leung made this Official Information request to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The request was partially successful.

From: Billy Leung

Dear Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade:

I would like to request for information or correspondences made from the New Zealand government and its overseas mission to Hong Kong concerning

1. the ability of bringing the same-sex spouse of diplomatic staff to Hong Kong, and response from the Government of Hong Kong.
2. how a person who is gender X, as recognized under NZ law, recognized under Hong Kong law.

I would also like to know whether there's any other country in Asia where New Zealand diplomatic staff can bring their same-sex partner being recognized as such for immigration purpose.

Thank you!

Yours faithfully,

Billy R. Leung
