On behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment I
acknowledge your email of 19/07/2026 requesting, under the Official
Information Act 1982, the following:
 
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request a complete list of
employers holding accreditation under the Accredited Employer Work Visa
(AEWV) scheme, as at the date this request is processed.

For each accredited employer, please provide:

1. Organisation (legal) name
2. Trading name(s)
3. NZBN
4. Accreditation type (e.g. Standard, High Volume, Triangular, Franchisee)
5. Accreditation status
6. Accreditation start date
7. Accreditation expiry date
8. Industry sector and sub-sector
9. Business location (city or territorial authority, and region)

I am not seeking employer contact details such as phone numbers or email
addresses.

Form of release: In accordance with section 16 of the Act, my preferred
form of release is a machine-readable spreadsheet (CSV or XLSX). A PDF
appendix would not meet my purpose, as the data needs to be sorted,
filtered and analysed.

Section 18(d): I note that MBIE has declined parts of similar requests on
the basis that the information is publicly available. The accredited
employer search tool on the Immigration New Zealand website returns
results for a single employer at a time, and only where the requester
already knows that employer's name or NZBN. It provides no means of
retrieving or exporting the list as a whole, and does not display industry
sector or sub-sector at all. The compiled dataset I have requested is
therefore not publicly available in the form sought. If you nevertheless
intend to rely on section 18(d) for any part of this request, please
identify the specific field or fields concerned and the exact source from
which each can be obtained publicly in that form.

Employers not published on the website: Please confirm whether this
release includes employers who have elected not to have their
accreditation information published online. If any such employers have
been excluded, please state how many, and the section of the Act relied
on.

Scope and charges: If any part of this request would require substantial
collation or research, I ask that you consult me under section 18B so that
the scope can be refined before any refusal is made. Likewise, please
advise me before incurring any charge.

I look forward to your decision within 20 working days.
 
We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, and no
later than 14/08/2026, being 20 working days after the day your request
was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will
