I refer to your information request dated 25 June 2026 made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). You have requested the following information:

Under the Official Information Act, I would like to request the following information for the Bachelor of Radiation Therapy programme at the University of Otago for each admission cycle over the past five years (or the most recent five years available):

- The total number of applications received.
- The total number of domestic and international applicants.
- The total number of offers made.
- The total number of students who enrolled.
- The number of available places in the programme.
- The number of applicants placed on the waitlist (if applicable).
- Whether interviews formed part of the selection process each year, and if so, the number of interviews offered
- The selection criteria used to assess and rank applicants.
- The number of applicants and the number of successful applicants in each admission category (e.g. Health Sciences First Year, Two or More Years of University Study, Graduate, Alternative category, and any other admission pathways).
- For applicants admitted through the Two or More Years of University Study category and the Graduate category (if applicable), the average, median, lowest, and highest GPA (or equivalent academic measure) of successful applicants.
- If available, the average, median, lowest, and highest GPA (or equivalent academic measure) of all applicants who received an offer in each admission category.
- Any other anonymised statistics held regarding the academic profile of successful applicants.

If any of the requested information is not held, or cannot be released, please provide the remaining information available.

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the date your request was received/clarified. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit. We are therefore writing to notify you, pursuant to section 15A of the Act, of an extension of the time to make our decision in respect of your request, by a further 10 working days – to 7 August 2026.

This extension is necessary to allow consultations necessary to make a proper decision on the request. We thank you for your patience and will endeavour to provide our response sooner if possible.

If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.
