In line with TVNZ’s obligations under the Official Information Act 1982, could you please provide a copy of all correspondence between TVNZ (or its solicitors, counsel or agents) and NZME relating to the investigation by NZME station(s)/masthead(s) of the publicly reported alleged incident involving Ms Maiki Sherman and Mr Lloyd Burr at Parliament in 2025.
For the avoidance of doubt, NZME in this request includes NZME Ltd, any companies of which NZME Ltd is the ultimate holding company, and any person acting on behalf of NZME (including its solicitors or counsel).

TVNZ’s decision makes no mention of the public interest test which must be applied before refusing a request on the grounds in s 9 of the Act. On this basis it appears they have not directed themselves properly as to the legal test, and, in any event, I consider their ultimate conclusion is wrong. I will be complaining to the Ombudsman.
