This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Charlie Drummond to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Charlie Drummond
Dear Ministry of Justice,
This is a request for official information under the Official Information Act 1982. I am requesting statistical data regarding claims heard by the Disputes Tribunal related to private parking breach notices.
For each of the last three full calendar years, please provide the following data:
1. The total number of claims filed where the claimant was a private parking enforcement company (such as Wilson Parking, Smart Compliance Management, etc.).
2. A breakdown of the outcomes for the claims identified in question 1, specifically:
a) Number of claims upheld (judgement for the claimant).
b) Number of claims dismissed (judgement for the respondent).
c) Number of claims settled by agreement before a Referee's ruling.
d) Number of claims withdrawn by the claimant before the hearing.
If an exact breakdown is not possible, please provide the data in the closest available format. I am not requesting details of any specific case, only anonymised statistical data.
This request is made in the public interest to understand the volume and outcomes of these civil disputes and to assess the efficiency and fairness of the current system for resolving them.
Yours faithfully,
Charlie Drummond
