contacted about the Southern Wastewater Treatment Plant, between 01 April
2020 and 01 April 2025?

Can Hamilton City Council provide the dates and invitation
documents/correspondence for all the consultation activity in the last
five years for the Southern Wastewater Treatment Plant?

 

We are willing to provide you a response on this question, however our
team need additional time to provide this. Part 2 of this response which
will include an answer to this question will be sent to you by 22
September.

 

Can Hamilton City Council provide a list (with dates when contact was
first made) of all the communities, groups, and organisations which were
contacted about the Southern Wastewater Treatment Plant, between 01 April
2020 and 01 April 2025?

The table below outlines contact made with communities, groups, and
organisations in relation to the Southern Wastewater Treatment Plant
(SWWTP). This includes engagement as part of the Southern Metro Wastewater
Detailed Business Case, which incorporated the SWWTP. Please note that a
preferred site for the SWWTP was not confirmed until after March 2025.

In addition to the list below, the Southern WWTP project has been noted in
the Hamilton City Council Long Term Plan and Infrastructure Strategies
with partial funding included since 2021. Long Term Plans and
Infrastructure Strategies are publicly consulted on.

 This project has been mentioned in Council’s 2021-2031 & 2024-2034
Long-Term Plans and Council’s 2024-54 Infrastructure Strategy. These
planning documents were consulted on with the public.

We have started engaging with nearby landowners and key stakeholders about
the project. There will be an opportunity for the wider community to have
their say when we begin the process to designate the land. We will also
ask for community feedback on other aspects of the project, including the
design and layout.
