Murray Peter Heasley made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment
The request was successful.
From: Murray Peter Heasley
Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
My name is Murray Peter Heasley (Passport Number [Passport number redacted]).
Having made a complaint to Immigration, via Mr Brian Williams,, initially in May of 2014, concerning fraud at The International Academy of New Zealand (IANZ) in its practices at every level from enrollment to attendance fraud, fraudulent hours of attendance and workplace practices including, but not confined to, employment practices where former students were subsequently employed to tutor in breech of immigration requirements as to work hours, I am requesting an update of the latest findings by your Ministry as they relate to this TEO and its current status.
Yours faithfully,
Dr Murray Heasley

Dear Martin Prowse,
Sent in error. It was for another matter entirely. I was assured I would be updated on the status of IANZ as soon as possible and asked to hold off on my request a little which I duly agreed to. I expect a response in the next few days.
Yours sincerely,
Murray Peter Heasley
From: Murray Peter Heasley
Dear Martin Prowse,
Sorry. Second error by me. It is NZQA who have asked me to hold off in my inquiry of IANZ. The Ministry of Business informed me they could not provide me any information as to any matters about IANZ because to do so would compromise on-going investigations. I was therefore refused any information whatsoever.
Yours sincerely,
Murray Peter Heasley

Dear Martin Prowse,
Thank you for that.
Given the now closure of IANZ and its forced sale to EDENZ to avoid deregistration and the catastrophic consequences to student stakeholders and the damage inflicted on the New Zealand education brand by the shenanigans of Exzur Peralta (covered extensively by TV3 and the journalist, Michael Morrah), it seems astonishing that the Peraltas were able to so effectively pull the wool over the eyes of INZ from May 2014 .
Indeed, had it not been for this single journalist, I am sure IANZ would still be carrying out its appalling fleecing of students as neither NZQA nor INZ seemed capable of stopping the Peraltas or protecting New Zealand society from their behaviour.
May I now request a full account of Immigration records as they apply to Brendon Lloyd Tampus who acted as a tutor at IANZ in 2014 and 2015.
May I also see the case notes taken at my interviews at INZ in 2014.
Both of these requests I ask under OIA.
Regards,
Murray Peter Heasley
