Advice on increased refugee quota
Alex Harris made this Official Information request to Minister of Immigration
The request was partially successful.
From: Alex Harris
Dear Minister of Immigration,
On Monday 7 September 2015 the government announced a one-off intake of 750 refugees over three years, 150 of them from within the existing quota. I would like to request the following information under the OIA:
* all advice on this refugee intake. I'm particularly interested in how the number was set, as well as the alternative options considered, and whether a permanent increase in the refugee quota was among them.
I would prefer to receive an electronic response. Queries about
this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the
fyi.org.nz website.
With regards to s12 of the OIA, I am an NZ citizen and in NZ.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Harris
