I request an unredacted copy of the contract for the supply of the Pfizer Covid 19 vaccines. I received a vaccination injury on 3-11-21 and have been in decreasing health since that injury.
Yours faithfully,

Response to your request for official information

Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) to the Ministry of Health – Manatû Hauora (the Ministry) on 14 March
 2025 for:

“… an unredacted copy of the contract for the supply of the Pfizer Covid
 19 vaccines.”

The contract between the New Zealand Government and Pfizer is withheld in
full under the following sections of the Act:
o Section 9(2)(b)(ii) where its release would likely unreasonably
prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied the
 information; and
o Section 9(2)(ba)(ii), to protect information that is subject to an
obligation of confidence and making it available would likely damage
 the public interest.

I have considered the countervailing public interest in releasing
information and consider that it does not outweigh the need to withhold at
 this time.

However, to address the unprecedented public interest, the Ombudsman
recommended the development of a summary statement with information on the
COVID-19 vaccine procurement process and the nature of the commitments
made by the Government across all the contracts.
The summary statement can be found here:

If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request with us, including this
decision, please feel free to contact the OIA Services Team on:
 [2][email address].

Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be
contacted by email at: [3][email address] or by calling 0800
 802 602.

    Dear OIA Requests,
Thank you for your response. I am, quite frankly, appalled by your decision. Given the fact that you acknowledge the unprecedented public interest in this matter, you have deemed it more important to protect the commercial position without prejudice of a company who have caused death and permanent disability to tens of thousands of New Zealand citizens. I do not, in any circumstance, believe that this is an end to this matter. Justice must prevail. If we do not have a fair and just society, then we will have anarchy and uncertainty for our communities.
I would ask you kindly to reconsider my request. I am not unreasonable in my actions. I look forward to hearing from you again at your earliest convenience.
Yours sincerely,
Norman McFadyen
