2025 MB ChB waitlist
ConcernedParent made this Official Information request to University of Otago
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for ConcernedParent to read recent responses and update the status.
From: ConcernedParent
Dear University of Otago,
My child has been wait listed for the 2025 MB ChB programme. This however does not give my child nor others any idea where they stand and the likelihood of being accepted.
Could we please get a listing of all applicants average academic score (high to low) showing which scores were given offers and which scores were wait listed (All categories thanks).
I would really appreciate any haste that could be put into this request as there are many anxious young people we know in the same position, and having this transparency where they stand could help prepare them for next year.
Yours faithfully,
Tony

Dear UoO - Official Information Act,
I have replied to this earlier but my reply does not show on this site so am giving you the courtesy of trying again.
The finalised results were not what were requested.
At the time of request (11 December) offers had been sent to a number of applicants.
This is what what requested - the raw data at that date of all applicant grades and who was offered a position.
Yours sincerely,
ConcernedParent

I refer to your information request dated 9 April 2025 made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the date your request was received. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit. We are therefore writing to notify you, pursuant to section 15A of the Act, of an extension of the time to make our decision in respect of your request, by a further 10 working days – to 23 May 2025.
This extension is necessary to allow for consultations necessary to make a decision on your request. We thank you for your patience and we will endeavour to provide our response sooner if possible.
If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.
Ngâ mihi
Bill
