Bay of Islands College Inquiry
Paul S made this Official Information request to Bay of Islands College
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Paul S to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Paul S
Dear Bay of Islands College,
I would like to obtain your school policy (as one found on website is outdated) as well as any other agreement(s) students and parents/guardians have to sign (e.g. Cohort, Class, House agreements). Also the different nationalities at the school and total enrolments at current.
I would also like to know if any other cohort(s) other that the primary offered Reo-rua cohort, practice Maori Cultural Practices (such as Taumata, Karakia etc). (Exceptions for welcoming of new staff/students/families to the school/powhiri/whakatau).
If so do these students do it out of their own free will or is it mandatory for themselves to acknowledge Maori Cultural Practices to remain in that cohort, class and/or house?
Has Bay of Islands College improved from the last ERO report in 2017 and previous. If so, how?
Are staff inclusive of all Genders, Race etc, including other cultures? If so, how?
Are staff reviewed on a regular basis with their teaching standards? If so, how?
Is Teo Reo Maori encouraged to students even if they do not want to take part in such practices?
Yours faithfully,
P.A Smith
