Good afternoon,
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982
(OIA), received 20 April 2024.
You requested:
I want access to documents, both submissions and letters, that the
department has received for changes that should be made to the Foreign
investment fund tax regime (FIF).
We are seeking clarification of your request to help with our response,
specifically the time-period you would like us to cover. The request, as
it is currently framed, will be difficult to meet without substantial
collation.
Can you please confirm, are you looking for more recent documents
submitted over the last 6 months? Alternatively, can you please define a
timeframe that would be satisfactory to your request?
Unless your request is amended, we may have to refuse parts of your
request under section 18(f) of the Official Information Act 1982, which
applies where the information cannot be made available without substantial
collation or research.
Once we receive the clarification, the timeframe for responding to your
request is reset as per section 15(1AA) of the OIA.
Kind regards,
Nathan

From: Simon Watts (MIN)
Dear Marcus,
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request which
has been partially transferred to Hon Simon Watts, the Minister of
Revenue. Below is the original request sent to Inland Revenue (IR).
I want access to documents, both submissions and letters, that the
department has received for changes that should be made to the Foreign
investment fund tax regime (FIF).
IR identified one document in scope that is more closely connected to the
functions of the Minister of Revenue. As such, the Minister is considering
your request in accordance with the Act, and you can expect a response in
due course.
Kind regards,
Evana
