Correlation of of COVID-19 “vaccines” and COVID reinfection

ASE made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for ASE to read a recent response and update the status.

From: ASE

Attn Ministry of Health,

I am seeking all information and data held by The Ministry of Health relating to correlations between COVID “vaccines” and COVID reinfection. In particular, I am seeking information and data that compares/contrasts COVID reinfection rates to numbers of COVID “vaccines”.

eg, I am seeking information and data that quantifiably demonstrates, using real-world data (not modeled data) any correlation (or inverse correlation) between COVID-19 “vaccines” and COVID reinfection, such that a risk of COVID reinfection is (or is not) correlated to how many COVID “vaccines” a person has had.

If this data has not been compiled by The Ministry of Health, please explain why; and, please provide data from which this analysis can be performed.

For clarification, this request includes all information pertaining to the above requests which is, intentionally or otherwise, not being held by The Ministry of Health.

Thank you,
ASE

Kia ora,

The OIA team at Manatū Hauora is currently on holiday break. We will
return on 8 January 2024.

Please note, over the holiday period there are three weeks that don’t
count as ‘working days’. For Official Information Act (OIA) requests, that
period is 25 December 2023 to 14 January 2024 (inclusive). OIA requests
received after 27 November 2023 may take a bit longer than you expected.
If you'd like to calculate the timeframe, you can use the Ombudsman's
online calculator here: [1]http://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/

Have a safe and happy holiday period.

Ngā mihi

From: ASE

Attn Ministry of Health,

Regarding my previous request for information of 28 Dec 2023, your reference # H2023034647,

The Ministry of Health has responded that: “the requested correlation of COVID reinfection rates to numbers of COVID vaccines is not held by the Ministry and there are no grounds for believing it is held by another agency subject to the Act. The Ministry has not performed this analysis as there is an under-reporting of COVID-19 infections, as many people do not test or report their test result, and this is information that would be required in order to perform the analysis.”

Thank you for that response.

I note that such response is contrary to public statements previously made by The Ministry of Health, including:

• “The Ministry of Health is constantly reviewing the national and international evidence on reinfections.” - https://www.health.govt.nz/news-media/ne...

• “We are continuing to monitor both our international. Both international evidence and our own experience around reinfection.” - https://www.health.govt.nz/news-media/ne...

• ““We are continuing to monitor international evidence on reinfection rates” says the Ministry’s Deputy Director of Public Health, Dr Harriette Carr..” - https://www.health.govt.nz/news-media/ne...

• “Reinfection data will be updated daily in COVID-19 and Vaccine update and hospitalisation data will be update weekly on the website” - https://www.health.govt.nz/news-media/ne...

• “In particular, whether or not you can get either reinfection once you have had a past infection or whether there is any suggestion that the vaccine may not be as effective. We don't yet have that information and that is what we need in order to be able to advise a different way of doing things.” - https://www.health.govt.nz/news-media/ne...

These inconsistencies may raise concerns about The Ministry of Health's integrity and may lead to people losing confidence in The Ministry of Health.

To clarify this inconsistency between The Ministry of Health's recent response to this request for information and previous statements made by The Ministry of Health, I must ask follow-up questions:

1- Has Ministry of Health been, or not been, “following the science” around this issue, as such data has been published in reputable scientific journals? (This includes articles which raise concerns about these medical interventions increasing the risks of COVID-19 reinfections)

2- Considering the claim that “the requested correlation of COVID reinfection rates to numbers of COVID vaccines is not held by the Ministry”,
2a- On what basis does The Ministry of Health continue to maintain that these medical interventions are safe and effective?
2b- How is this consistent with The Ministry of Health's commitments and assurances to actively and proactively monitor the safety and efficacy of these medical interventions?

Thank you,
ASE
