Dear Department of Corrections,
Why were inmates at A Block at Auckland Prison locked down on Friday afternoon 6 February 2015 when it does not appear to have been for the purpose of officer training? Was the lockdown in accordance with the agreed protocol with the Ombudsman, and in accordance with the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners ?

Would you please give details of the "operational & safety requirements"" mentioned in your letter . What lockdown restrictions were placed variously on low/medium , high and maximum security inmates in A Block . Do you obtain your answers to my questions from line management or prison inspectors ?
