Remuneration Policy for Board approval by
Written Procedure
1.1 Background
1. A paper and updated Remuneration Policy was circulated to the Board for approval out of
cycle so that the 2023/24 remuneration decisions, scheduled for August 2023, could be
made in accordance with the policy.
2. The People and Capability Committee reviewed the policy at their meeting on 25 July.
The Committee noted that we continue to operate with system oversight for remuneration
from the Public Service Commission including PSC Pay Guidance. The Committee noted
that the policy reflects this operating environment and provides transparency to staff on
our approach to remuneration. The Committee endorsed the policy for approval by the
Board.
1.2 Recommendations to the REA Board
Recommendations
It was recommended that the Board:
a.
Approve the revised Remuneration Policy out of cycle by email approval to
the Chief Executive by 10am on 8 August 2023
b.
Advise if a meeting is required to discuss the policy prior to approval.
Outcome: Approved with unanimous agreement that no special meeting was required.
