Under the OIA, can you please provide urls or copies of documents for any
- minuted discussion,
- analysis,
- advice,
- or reporting provided

in the period since 2020

regarding the number of universities* required to perform the functions of universities in the New Zealand tertiary sector.

Please include (if there is any) notes on which institutes might be partially or completely defunded first if the assessed number of needed facilities is less than the currently operating number.

Yes, taking into account current and forecast demand.

"Following that, you would like to know if the current eight universities have been assessed as too many, then which one will be/is likely to be defunded first?"
Yes, although I understand this is a difficult and sensitive question involving political, financial, academic, and industrial problems.

The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) will consider and respond to your request in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act)

Under section 15(1) of the Act, we are required to make and inform you of our decision on your request as soon as reasonably practicable and in any case not later than 20 working days after the day on which your request is received.
