Please find attached a copy of the Terms of Reference for the Heritage

Environment Committee as per above . (Attachment 1)
In regard to how public nominations were called, Expressions of Interest
(EOI) were called through the Council’s City Development Newsletter and
through the southern branches of the New Zealand Institute of Architects
and Architectural Designers of New Zealand memberships. The EOI was also
circulated to a number of relevant local building owners and developers
experienced with heritage buildings. The wording of the EOI is attached
(Attachment 2)
A total of 12 Expressions of Interest were received through the EOI
process, all were from individuals. There were no submissions from
organisations such as Te Puni Kōkiri or the Ministry for Women.
The EOI’s were reviewed by the elected members of the Advisory Group (Cr
Sophie Barker, Cr Kevin Gilbert, Cr David Benson-Pope) and 10 have been
shortlisted. The seven community membership roles will complement the
three elected members, mana whenua representative, representative from
Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga and also a representative from the
Southern Heritage Trust. It is intended that those interested parties
will receive a reports on their Expressions of Interest (EOI) by the end
of July 2023.
Members of the Advisory Group will not be remunerated and membership is
voluntary. I trust this responds to the information sought.
