TVNZ contributed $500,000 towards the broadcast production budget for Te
Matatini in 2023. The money was generated through TVNZ’s commercial
revenues and provided to Aotearoa Kapa Haka Ltd (a subsidiary of Te
Matatini).

 

TVNZ was not the official broadcaster from 2017-22 and no payment was made
in those years.

 

In accordance with Section 19(b) of the Act we advise that you have the
right to seek an investigation and review of the above by making a
complaint under Section 28(3) to an Ombudsman.
