Full text of the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA)
A. Winter-Billington made this Official Information request to Minister of Trade
The request was refused by Minister of Trade.
From: A. Winter-Billington
Dear Minister of Trade,
Please email me a scanned copy or pdf of the full text of the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), or release is to the New Zealand media. Every word of the text of the document as it stands today.
I do not support closed door negotiations at the best of times. It is elitist, as though you think that we, the people are unqualified to judge the merits or real significance of what is on the table. In this case it is worse than normal, since there are indications that the TPPA could restrict New Zealanders' personal freedoms and erode the separation of state and corporation. It is my future you are dealing with behind those closed doors and the more you resist opening them the less I trust you with it.
Yours faithfully,
A. Winter-Billington

On behalf of Hon Tim Groser, thank you for your email. Your
correspondence has been noted and will be recorded.
All correspondence, including email, is routed through our mail tracking
process. Although e-mail increases the speed of delivery, the
“behind-the-scenes” efforts of the Minister’s staff in responding to
mail cannot always provide the kind of speedy response users of email may
anticipate.
While the Minister considers all correspondence to be important, if it is
obvious that you are writing only to express a personal view your opinion
will be noted but a response beyond this acknowledgement may not be sent.
Thank you again.
