Social impact of high unemployment as opposed to high inflationb

Brendon Mills made this Official Information request to Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Reserve Bank of New Zealand should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Brendon Mills

Dear Reserve Bank of New Zealand,

I would like to know whether you have considered the impact of high unemployment on NZ society, esp among Maori, youth, etc and considered it to be just as adverse as high inflation.

Yours faithfully,

Brendon Mills

From: Brendon Mills

Dear Reserve Bank of New Zealand,

Can we please have an update on this request. We have a right to know if the RBNZ knows that people are going to be adversley affected by interest rate hikes -- ie do you really think that having to pay $2 more for a latte is better than having to pay $200 more on weekly mortage repayments?

Yours faithfully,

Brendon Mills
