Please supply the missing half-hourly data files for July.

Nicky McLean made this Official Information request to Electricity Authority

The request was successful.

From: Nicky McLean

Dear Electricity Authority,
Via your organisation's web site https://www.emi.ea.govt.nz/Wholesale/Dat... some seven sub-directories give links to files containing data on the half-hourly generation and consumption of electricity at many places across the country, all grouped into monthly files. These data files are supplied in the following month, generally around the second week. Unusually, links to two of the seven manifested somewhat early: file 202207_Unit_level_generation.csv dated the sixth, and file 202207_Embedded_generation.csv dated the tenth. But there are no links to the other five of the seven, namely
202207_Grid_export.csv
202207_Reactive_power.csv
202207_Grid_export_to_Tiwai.csv
202207_HVDC_flows.csv
202207_Grid_import.csv

Can these please be supplied?

Yours faithfully,
Nicky McLean

Electricity Authority

Kia ora Mr McLean,

Thank you for your request of 18 August 2022, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).

The files you requested were published on Friday 19 August 2022 here: https://www.emi.ea.govt.nz/Wholesale/Dat.... The seven file types get delivered to us from three different and independent sources and the date we receive the files varies. We process and publish the files once we receive them, thus the date the files are published varies.

Therefore, your request is refused under section 18(d) of the Act, that the information requested is or will soon be publicly available.

If you have any queries, please feel free to contact me by emailing [email address].

Kind regards,

Tessa Ballinger

Dear Ms. Ballinger,
Thank you for your response today. As I recall my request was made on Friday the 19'th (not the 18'th) and in the early evening when the files were not to be found. Later, links for them did appear, dated the 19'th and the files themselves have a timestamp of around six a.m. on Saturday the 20'th. I hope somebody was not "working from home" at that time.
No matter, the data files are available. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
Nicky McLean
