Changing to student visa after applying RV2021 under scare criteria
Harsha Keerthirathne made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment
The request was successful.
From: Harsha Keerthirathne
Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
I’m writing to get formal information regarding moving to a student VISA after applying for a 2021 resident visa.
Even though the INZ website says that an applicant must hold an eligible visa on 29th September 2021 and at the date of application, some rumours say that the applicant must hold the eligible visa until it’s processed. INZ originally said that it's necessary to have a VALID visa during the process of RV application and must have an eligible visa 29th September 2021 and at the date of application.
I applied for RV2021 on the 1st of March under scare list criteria and I have an essential skill work visa for dairy farming. And I just want to confirm that moving to a student visa AFTER applying for RV2021 under scare criteria will make any harm to my RV2021 or eligibility.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Yours faithfully,
Harsha
Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment
Dear Harsha ,
Thank you for contacting us.
To be eligible for this visa, you must hold an eligible type of work visa
on 29/09/2021 and on the day you submit the application.
There is no requirement to remain on an eligible type of work visa while
the application is in process.
Kind regards,
Alannagh
