Our office is currently closed for the Christmas and New Year holiday

Thank you for your email of 31 December 2021 in which you asked whether the Prime Minister was required to self-isolate or quarantine due to possible COVID-19 exposure, specifically to the Omicron variant in December 2021.

I can advise that the answer is no, the Prime Minster did not self-isolate or quarantine during the requested time period. In January 2022, when potential exposure occurred via a location of interest, the Prime Minister, as is a requirement for all New Zealanders, followed the guidelines on the Unite Against COVID-19 website and self-isolated for the recommended time period.
