Law Part II
Chuck made this Official Information request to University of Auckland
The request was successful.
      From: Chuck

    Dear University of Auckland,
a) What was the lowest lawGPA for students who were offered a place in Part II, who did not meet the 6.5 threshold for guaranteed entry? In both 2020, and 2021.
b) What were the 10 lowest lawGPAs for students who were offered a place in Part II, who did not meet the 6.5 threshold for guaranteed entry? In both 2020, and 2021.
By 2020 and 2021 I mean students who commenced Part II studies beginning semester one of that same year. So for 2021, I refer to students who were accepted into Part II to begin studying semester 1 2021.
Please exclude successful UTAS students from both these calculations. Please also exclude successful "Special Appeals" students from both calculations.
Yours faithfully,
Chuck

    Dear Chuck,

I refer to your request of 20 December 2021. The University’s response
 follows.

Your request is almost identical to a previous request, to which the
University has responded on the FYI.org.nz website
 ([1]https://fyi.org.nz/request/17627-law-par...). The only
difference between the two requests is that your request also asks the
University to “Please also exclude successful "Special Appeals" students
from both calculations”. If the University were to do so, that would
provide information about the very small number of Special Appeals
students in the students with the 10 lowest law GPAs who were offered a
place in Part II in 2020 and 2021. The information requested is withheld
under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA to protect their privacy.

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
 dissatisfied with this response.

Yours sincerely,
Rebecca Ewert
General Counsel
University of Auckland
