Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) to the Ministry of Health (the Ministry) on 25 October 2021 for
information regarding COVID testing pop up clinics.

You specifically requested:

To set up a 'pop' up covid testing clinic - what is the finding that is
received to set it up

The Ministry does not track costs down to the method of delivery, we have
a Price Per Dose (PPD) for Primary and Pharmacy payments, however district
health boards (DHBs) recover the costs for ‘pop up’ sites as part of the
vaccine administration programme. The PPD is available
at: [1]www.health.govt.nz/system/files/documents/pages/planning-considerations-existing-accredited-vaccination-health-care-facilities-3sept2021.pdf.
The following link identifies the cumulative costs incurred by DHBs each
month in relation to COVID-19
at: [2]www.health.govt.nz/new-zealand-health-system/key-health-sector-organisations-and-people/district-health-boards/accountability-and-funding/summary-financial-reports/dhb-sector-financial-reports-2020-21.

as well as what payment is received per vaccination administered.

Vaccination administration cost:

COVID-19 GP and Pharmacy Vaccination per dose $36.05 ex GST
COVID-19 GP and Pharmacy Vaccination-Out of Hours per dose $48.72 ex GST

Any payments made to schools and organisations who have clinics at their
locations, including set up payments and payments per vaccination.

The Ministry is unable to answer this part of your request as set up costs
and rent paid to the owner of the clinic site will be down to DHB/provider
level. You may wish to seek this information from them directly:
[3]https://www.health.govt.nz/new-zealand-h...

Under section 28(3) of the Act you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be
contacted by email at: [4][email address] or by calling 0800
802 602.
