Dear Jill Liu

I am writing to clarify your request for information.

As you may be aware Immigration New Zealand (INZ) allocates skilled residence applications (Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) applications from Residence from Work (RFW) applications) from the same queues. Are you interested in skilled residence applications or just SMC applications?

For the first part of your request, are you interested in applications accepted by INZ before January 2020 (i.e. up to and including 31 December 2019) or including those accepted in January 2020 (i.e. up to and including 31 January 2020)?

In relation to the second part of your request we are able to provide the number of skilled residence applications allocated broken down by the week they were allocated and the queue type, but we are unable to provide the lodgement date of each application allocated as this information is not recorded. We are able to provide the accepted date of the oldest application left in the queue after each allocation has taken place however. Please confirm if that will be sufficient?

Please note that any clarification or amendment of an OIA request is considered to be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum statutory timeframe for response in line with section 15(1AA) of the OIA.

If you have any questions please contact me.

For the second part of my request, it will be sufficient if you can provide the accepted date of the oldest application left in the queue after each allocation has taken place. Can I also request how many applications allocated in May 2021 until the time you respond to the request? Can you present it by how many priority and non-priority applications each week start from May 2021?”
