Kia ora GP,

I refer to your correspondence as follows:

1. Are there any visa options currently( given the border closure) for NZ
citizens and permanent residents to bring their parents to New Zealand on
a temporary basis?

2. Please share any documents or communication regarding discussions  of
reopening Parents residency visa EOIs after Jan 2021.

3. How many resident visas have been approved since March 2020 - could you
please break this down by type of resident visa and month.

We are responding to your queries as general correspondence as the
information you refer to is publicly available.

There is not currently a border exception category specifically for
parents of New Zealand citizens and permanent residents. Individuals who
believe they may be eligible for a border exception may submit an
expression of interest (EOI) on the Immigration New Zealand (INZ) website.
Information on border exception categories and how to submit an EOI can be
found at the page below:

[1]https://www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us...

In October 2020, the Government continued to defer the EOI selection
process for the Parent Resident Category. Any new information or
communication from INZ regarding selection of EOIs from the pool may be
found on the INZ website. I would encourage you to continue checking the
website for up-to-date information, which will include any decisions made.

With regards to your query for numbers of resident visas approved, broken
down by type of visa and month, please find Table 3 contained within the
response below:

If there is further information you would like to request from us that is
not publicly available, please let us know by submitting another request.

Ngā mihi
