Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
As a citizen of New Zealand, I would like to make my first OIA request. I will use bullet points to make it easy to log the request in the Hive.
I request
-file format : csv table
-from: INZ group
-periodicity: monthly aggregated
-period(d/m/y) : 01.01.2015 to 16.12.2020
-subject: granted onshore work, resident, tourist visa applications by country of origin
-aggregation: sum of distinct count by month
-type of visa: work, resident and tourist. Please give them a high level label even if there are many more types of visas underneath. Regardless if it is from partnership or family.
As an example the data should look like this:
Date | Visa Type | Sum of Distinct Count
1/01/2015 German_tourist_visa	11
1/01/2015	German_work_visa 14
1/01/2015	German_resident_visa	4
1/02/2015	German_tourist_visa	200
1/02/2015	German_work_visa 2
1/02/2015	German_resident_visa	33
  ... ... ...
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Mircea-Andrei Stoian

    Dear Mircea-Andrei Stoian
The information you are requesting is publically available via the Immigration New Zealand website here: https://mbienz.shinyapps.io/migration_da...
Under the 'Data Explorer' tab the datasets it appears you are interested in are:
R1 Residence Decisions;
V1 Visitor Decisions; and
W1 Work Decisions.
Each of these datasets can be broken down into monthly data, and by nationality. You can then select the dates you are interested in. You can download the datasets as CSV files.
Please respond by Tuesday 22 December 2020 to confirm whether this publically available information satisfies your request. If so we can withdraw your request.
Kind regards
Anna McLachlan (she/her)

    Dear Anna McLachlan,
Good afternoon Anna,
That is exactly what I am looking for but the aggregation are at a region level and are too generic.
- Europe (Eastern)
- Europe (Northern)
- Europe (Southern)
- Europe (Western)
Could you please provide me that same type of information but by Nationality at a country level.
Yours sincerely,
Andrei Stoian
