Thank you for your request of 28 July 2020 to the Ministry of Education
for the following information:

 

·        I would like to know the most recent exam results for students
with special educational needs

 

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act).

 

The Ministry does not hold and capture exam results data categorised by
‘students with special education needs’. The New Zealand Qualifications
Authority (NZQA), the agency responsible for administering the secondary
school assessment system and NCEA exam results, have also confirmed that
they do not hold and capture exam results data categorised by ‘students
with special education needs’. Therefore, I am refusing your request under
section 18(g) as the information requested is not held by the Ministry and
we have no reason to believe it is held by any one agency.

 

Thank you again for your email. You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to
review this decision. You can do this by writing to
